Passion '07

January 1-4, 2007 - Atlanta, GA http://www.268generation.com/

ThePassion conference is an opportunity for college students from around the world to gather and worship together and hear messages from wonderful speakers. 9 of us represented Operation Mobilization at the conferenceand our roles were as missions mobilizers. We had the opportunity to speak to thousands of students and answer their questions about missions. Many of them didn't even know they could serve in missions let alone what opportunities were available. What a privilege it was to help some of these students overcome the barriers that are keeping them from joining missions and also presenting them with opportunities of how they can use their skills and talents to serve the Lord. One of the coolest things about Passion '07 was that it presented ways for the students to get involved in missions while they were at the conference. Students could give $10 to help pay for a life-saving surgery in South America, commit to pray about serving for a year in Northern Iraq, sign a petition against the sex trade in Europe, pay $20 to get one verse of the Bible translated for the Dela people in Indonesia, and mail a Bible to a fellow Christian in China and commit to pray for them. I believe the students ended up giving over 1/2 million dollars to these various missions opportunities.
